These silver padlock necklaces carry a peculiar gemstone! So let me tell you about the myth of Amethyst!
One unblessed day a mere mortal dared to insult, Dionysus, the Greek god of wine. The god flew into a drunken rage and swore to take revenge on the first human that would cross his path. It was Amethystos, a beautiful young woman on her way to pay honor to Artemis, which was about to receive his wrath. Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and moon, noticed the young woman in despair and in a moment of panic she turned her in a statue of crystalline quartz. When Doinysus realized what he had done, he was overcome by guilt an cried tears of wine. The white crystalline stone soaked up his tears until it glowed a gentle purple hue.
And thats how, according to Greek Mythology, the gemstone Amethyst came to fruition!
