This padlock design is inspired by the Fantastic Garden scene from the movie Coraline! A lush oasis in the parallel universe of ‘the other mother’ where everything is just a little too perfect. However the love these padlock hearts signify is very real, and so is the passion I created them with!

A love lock is a small padlock that symbolises the devotion between sweethearts. It is locked to a bridge and to seal their unbreakable bond, the loved ones throw the key in the river below.

The warm Hessonite Garnet is a gemstone that brings joy, encourages you to grow and allows you to receive more often. But most importantly its soothing and empowering energy is a mighty ally in creating a blissful relationship.

You may wear this pendant with either side facing forward. It comes with a 45 cm/ 18″ satellite necklace.

THE OTHER MOTHER

I essentially grew up with three mothers. My mom and my two grandmothers. A Spanish one from my father’s side and an Indonesian one from my mother’s side. I experienced an explosion of culture, stories, soul food and unwavering love. They created an idyllic universe which felt safe and comforting. One that was always there when we faced the storms of life together.

I recently lost my last living grandmother and during this grieving process I decided to create a collection inspired by my memories of them as ‘the other mothers’. Each piece tells a small part of my story, with a sprinkle of Coraline* aesthetic. The designs are meant to hold on to memories and give comfort.

Little mending kits for broken hearts, precious stones to dry your tears but most importantly something to remind you of a warm and loving place.
